About Pengtao
Pengtao Xie is a Co-Founder of AIBuildAI and an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on developing AI agents capable of automatically building AI models. The AIBuildAI agent developed by his team achieved first place on OpenAI MLE-Bench. His honors include the NSF CAREER Award, NIH MIRA Award, Global Top-100 Chinese Young Scholars in AI by Baidu, finalist for the AMIA Doctoral Dissertation Award, ICLR Notable Top 5% Paper Award, Amazon AWS Machine Learning Research Award, Tencent AI-Lab Faculty Award, and the Innovator Award from the Pittsburgh Business Times, among others. He received his Ph.D. from the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University in 2018.
